Position Overview & Specifications
As a Transport Coordinator / Planner, your duties include:
- Scheduling vehicles and drivers to ensure an efficient service to our customers.
- Coordinate the movement of vehicles and allocate drivers to these movements.
- Create a clear plan of action ensuring consistently high standards of delivery.
- Liaising with employed and agency drivers to ensure that deliveries are carried out.
- Complete all legally required checks on drivers.
- Be able to assist with some of the financial aspects of the business, co-ordinating with the Accounts team on invoices to be paid.
- Liaising with customers to find and plan work
To be successful for the role of the Transport Coordinator, you will have had previous experience in:
- A transport planning role with the capability to schedule drivers and vehicles.
- Specific experience in the road transport/air freight industry
- Excellent computer skills, specifically Excel and Outlook
- Sales experience in the transport industry would be beneficial
- Finance aspects of such a role, i.e. familiar with costing jobs, helping track weekly turnover, liaising with Accounts on anything they require (knowledge of Sage also beneficial).
- Familiar with tachograph analysis tools and downloading software.
- You will be organised and efficient - this is a fast paced environment.
- Be able to liaise with customers, book and log jobs, organise drivers & vehicles and assist the Transport Manager with all daily tasks required.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £27,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
