The services delivered to our clients include virtual training, 1-2-1 coaching, classroom training, talks and e-Learning.

Working Voices has 40+ highly skilled trainers based in the UK, Europe, US, South America, and Asia that deliver instructor-led sessions and coaching to our clients. The company also has a bespoke software platform for the delivery of e-Learning courses.

We are currently seeking an experienced Financial Controller. The ideal candidate will be a graduate, fully qualified Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA) and have excellent leadership and communications skills. They must also have the conviction to implement change and the personal qualities to manage the company finance function.

Personal attributes & experience

• Excellent financial modelling skills (Excel)
• Good experience of financial systems (Sage)
• Good understanding of accounting for foreign exchange
• Prefer experience of Salesforce but not essential
• Strong leadership skills
• Proactive approach
• Self-starter that’s capable of working without day-to-day supervision
• Must be an excellent communicator
• Friendly manner and a team player
• Must be ambitious with desire to be come Finance Director/CFO within 2 – 3 years

Responsibilities

• Review and approval of all purchase invoices, credit card statements and expense claims
• Payment of UK staff salaries
• Payment of subcontractors, suppliers, and expenses
• Monthly submission of data to external payroll provider
• Preparation and distribution to directors of weekly reports
• Preparation and distribution of monthly management accounts pack
• Review of debtors and creditors reports prepared by finance staff
• Ensure the accounting records are kept up-to-date and prepare balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
• Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT return
• Update 12 month rolling forecast on a quarterly basis
• Half-year finance reports for unsecured lender
• Prepare annual finance reports for US subsidiary and Hong Kong branch for tax compliance
• Prepare financial information for the UK annual consolidated accounts
• Deal with ad-hoc requests from the company directors
• Manage relationship with external accountants/tax advisers in UK, US, and Hong Kong

Future development

• Review and introduce new accounting procedures and routines to improve financial control and streamline processing
• Review suitability of Sage accounting system and submit recommendations to the board of directors
