Position Overview & Specifications
Local Gardner currently looking for a part-time seasonal garden assistant, either as a self-employed person or as a fixed-term team member from April to October. Potential for the contract to be extended into the winter.
You must be a reliable person, physically fit, able to offer great customer service, good communication skills and an interest in horticulture. Horticultural qualifications not essential as on the job training will be provided. If you are currently studying horticulture this is an ideal opportunity to gain industry experience. Job Role Responsibilities:
- General garden maintenance and removing green waste
- Mowing lawns, strimming, cutting hedges, weeding, pruning, leaf blowing, etc
- Moss & weed removal from patios and pathways, control of invasive non-native plant species
- Watering and refreshing plant pots, dead heading, shrub renovation or replacement planting.
- Mulching beds and borders.
You will be working alongside one full-time gardener. Candidates must be prepared to work outdoors in challenging weather.
A full UK Driving license is desirable.
Part-time hours: 8 hours per week, with high potential to increase hours following a trial period.
