Network Operations Specialist


Location:
Warwick (max 1 hour commute)
Salary: Competitive, Shift allowances apply + Vodafone Benefits
Permanent: Full time opportunity, shift basis
Shift Pattern: 12 hour rotating shifts (10 days/10 nights over a 6-week period) - Shift allowances apply
Additional Requirements: Candidates must be eligible and willing to undergo vetting to secure MoD SC Clearance (the criteria being 5 years UK residency)

What will you be doing?


As a Network Operations Engineer, you will be part of a dedicated team providing 24*7 support to one of our key customers. You will be customer facing, providing professional expertise on the day to day management of the customers strategic network and in the handover of services from provide to assure.


This is a customer facing role so your ability to effectively operate and integrate into a customer environment showing strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of enthusiasm will be key to your success.


Responsibilities will include:


As a Network Operations Engineer you will be responsible for taking an overall pro-active responsibility for the technical support on issues arising within the customers environment at Data Centres. Undertaking and supporting rapid restoration of network fault resolution within SLA and prior to critical Service failure where possible. This will include working with associated Service Desks to ensure the correct action for an incident is taken and posted to the correct resolving agency (with necessary diagnostics / impact assessments). Where necessary you will investigate network problems identified using pro-active management tools, pre-empting where possible before critical services are impacted, ensuring that incidents are escalated according to Operational Procedures as required.

Who are we looking for?


  • Experience or capability of working to 1st or 2nd line support level on PDH, SDH & Radio Communications environment
  • Understanding of network management and use of Network Management Platform tools.
  • Track record of successfully prioritising simultaneous activities within SLA
  • CCNA Accreditation or Experience of Cisco Network Environments
  • Candidates must be eligible and willing to undergo vetting to secure MoD SC Clearance (the criteria being 5 years UK residency)


All candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK and must be capable of achieving SC-level UK security clearance
