Marketing Manager

We’re seeking Marketers with varying skill sets, from SEO to CRO, automation, content, market research and analytics to fill a number of different roles within our business.

We are a leading technology firm. We build plugins to WordPress that are relied upon by more than 5 million WordPress websites worldwide.

To date the business has invested strongly in product development teams. As a result, our plugins are some of the best in the world, but our marketing by comparison is relatively immature.

We’re looking for 2-3 heads to join a new marketing department being built from the ground up.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you’ll be our first marketers in a rapidly growing business with big ambitions for the future, and every ability to get there.

The roles

The nature of the roles and how the work is divided will be partly shaped by you, what you bring to the table and what you enjoy doing.

Our culture is a relatively informal one, we have a flat hierarchy where everyone is heard, and collaboration is key. Here are some of the responsibilities that could be yours to own:

• Action on-page and off-page SEO recommendations from our digital agency or make recommendations of your own, seeing these through to fruition.
• Own the content marketing plan recommended by our digital marketing agency. Build on this and outsource work to a network of freelance content writers and video producers.
• CRO and A/B split testing across multiple WordPress plugin websites.
• Email Marketing Automation. Review what we have in place and recommend alternatives that support acquisition and retention at key points in the customer lifecycle. Oversee ongoing optimization of automated emails through A/B split testing.
• Point-in time email campaigns e.g. sales promotions and newsletters.
• Analytics. Look at what the data is telling us e.g. our sales data, GA4, Search Console etc. and make recommendations for what we ought to be doing next.
• Analyse content and placement of marketing messaging in our WordPress plugin products and increase referrals to our website.
• Marketing messaging and copywriting. Writing clear, compelling, and concise copy for example in banner adverts, when creating and updating webpages, email campaigns etc.
• Market Research. Segmenting and profiling customers, creating personas, understanding user journeys. Creating ongoing mechanisms for collecting customer feedback that we can act upon.
• If you have experience in some or all of those areas, or if you have a depth of experience in one area in particular, we’d love to hear from you.
