Applications are invited for the above post based at the Centre of Evidence Based Dermatology, which is part of the Lifespan and Population Health Unit within the School of Medicine.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Assistant to join an expanding team within CEBD, led by Dr Rosalind Simpson, which has a focus on vulval skin disease and women’s health in dermatology. The main purpose of this post (funded by a National Institute for Health (NIHR) Advanced Fellowship) is to support the delivery of a programme of work aiming to develop and validate diagnostic criteria for the vulval skin condition Lichen Sclerosus. Specifically, you will play a crucial role in supporting the multi-centre studies testing the diagnostic criteria.

Key activities will include development of study documentation, opening and co-ordination of recruiting sites and day-to-day study management including the production of study communications such as newsletters. You will also be expected to contribute to research reports and publications. Experience of working in a clinical trial/study co-ordination role (with a sound understanding of the principles of Good Clinical Practice, Data Protection and research governance) is essential, along with excellent project management, IT and communication skills.

This role is available on a fixed term basis for 2.5 years. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours); however, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 18.13 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part time and the number of preferred hours. Arrangements for job share would be considered.

Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.

Informal enquiries may be addressed to Dr Rosalind Simpson email rosalind.simpson@nottingham.ac.uk. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
