UK and Scottish Governments announced the Edinburgh and South-East Scotland City Region Deal on 20th July 2017. Innovation is to play a significant role in the Deal, with the Data Driven Innovation Programme at its heart. The DDI Programme seeks to make the region the European leader in the ethical application of data to improve the lives and careers of the population of Edinburgh and south-east Scotland. The University of Edinburgh will lead this major initiative in collaboration with partners from across the City Region.

The Opportunity:

The Data Driven Innovation Programme Office (DDI PO) is tasked with the successful delivery of the objectives of the DDI Programme, and is seeking a talented Programme Office Co-ordinator to join the team. Based in the historic heart of the City of Edinburgh, the Programme Office Co-ordinator will provide full and comprehensive coordination of all aspects of support and administration for the DDI PO, reacting to changing priorities, in order to ensure effective and efficient organisation and functioning of the programme. The Programme Office Co-ordinator will adopt a continuous improvement approach in all aspects of the role, simplifying, improving and developing operational processes for the DDI PO wherever possible.

This role within the DDI PO will appeal to individuals who enjoy variety and collaborative working and relish delivering or contributing to solutions to challenges as they arise.

The post-holder will occasionally provide personal support to the DDI Programme Leadership Team at events, meetings etc. in a variety of locations across the Edinburgh and South East Scotland region.

Your skills and attributes for success:
  • Provide and coordinate all aspects of logistical and administrative support for the Programme Office.
  • Provide support to the DDI Programme Leadership Team through the delivery of assigned tasks.
  • Act as the general and first point of contact for the Programme Office.
  • Undertake both general and project administrative tasks as required.
  • Undertake some financial processes.
