Job title: Overhead Cabler
Salary: Up to £32,000
Location: Salisbury, Andover, Ringwood, High Wycombe
THE ROLE
We’re a small company with a very exciting future. You will be an experienced and competent overhead engineer who will be part of an overhead team, responsible for erecting overhead spans using 36f/48F ULW fibre involve at the top of telegraph poles.
THE DAY JOB
- Erect overhead spans (36f/48f ULW) in accordance with job packs
- Mount FP’s (our equivalent of CBT’s) to the top of telegraph poles using single, double, triple brackets and securing cable to pole in accordance to CP08
- Use of both a MEWP and ladders when mounting/spanning
- Pole dressing (renewing capping/boots where required in accordance with CP08)
- Interpret box-to-box diagrams and maps to understand the routes.
- Carry out rodding and roping to establish whether the planned cable routes are clear and viable
- Complete A55 forms to identify the precise location of any blockages
- Take photographs as required for completing As-built documentation.
- Updating and recording all works on APX (GIS system)
- Carry out risk assessments prior to work.
- Use traffic management as needed in accordance with Chapter 8.

- Knowledge and experience of working to BT Openreach standards and processes for working at height.
- Current qualification to work on BT Network or equivalent
- Navigate the network.
- Interpret job packs.
- Carry out risk assessments prior to work.
- Work safely using gate guards and signage as appropriate
- Take responsibility for tools issued and vehicle assigned in accordance with Trooli vehicle policy
- Full clean manual UK driving license
