Role: Junior IT Technician

Location: Chesterton, Newcastle Under Lyme, ST5 6BN

Remuneration: Dependent on candidate and negotiable for experience and skills.

Working hours: 8:30 – 17:00 Monday to Friday with one 30 min break. 40hrs a week.

Thorp Precast are a forward-thinking construction business with a passion for quality and innovation. We specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke architectural panels and structures.

Due to continued growth and investment we are currently looking for a new addition to our IT Department. The focus of this role is to have an understanding and knowledge of Business Central and Office 365 and take active part in their implementation across the business.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is has recently completed a relevant IT qualification and is looking for their first or next career opportunity in the IT sector.

The role will allow you to utilise their existing IT expertise and learn new skills along the way by being involved in various exciting projects. The role is challenging and varied on a daily basis and there will be opportunities to experience different parts of the business throughout the development of the individual.

As a Junior IT Technician you will be expanding your knowledge in the following areas;

· Administering changes and train employees in the use of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

· Assisting in the development of in-house IT systems to automate business processes.

· Implementing and develop Microsoft SharePoint CRM, DMS and Project Management capabilities.

· Using SharePoint and Office 365 alongside Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.

· Producing reports, schedules and technical documents using a range of software packages to assist with the management of the Company’s IT infrastructure.

· Providing a direct line of support to colleagues with any IT related issues.

· Setting up new user profiles and equipment.

· Managing the company’s network infrastructure.

· Using Visual Studio Code and Azure Active Directory.

· Managing Cloud Based Telephony and Databases.

· Managing Product Licence for Software.

Experience/ knowledge of the following software would be a distinct advantage;

· Dynamics 365 Business Central

· Microsoft SharePoint

· Office 365

The suitable applicant will;

· Have knowledge of computer networking and Microsoft Office Suite user.

· Must be punctual and honour commitments.

· Will have attention to detail.

· Will have problem solving skills, be keen to learn and use their own initiative.

· Will have excellent written and oral communication skills.

· Will be able to work with a variety of people as part of a large organisation.

· Will be able to follow instructions and work unsupervised.

· Have excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Experience in any of the following would be advantageous but not essential; SharePoint, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft SQL Server management studio, CRM & DMS systems, IT Helpdesk experience, Microsoft server, Developing in vs code/ Application Language.
