Position Overview & Specifications

An exciting opportunity to join a company with over 100 years experience specialising in school photography, from nursery through to sixth form. We employ some of the most experienced staff in the industry and are keen to add to that team by recruiting confident, experienced freelance photographers, based in South London, whose attributes compliment our company requirements.

Job Description

Successful candidates will be required to work 5 days per week Monday to Friday (term time) from the start of September through to the end of November. There is potential to be invited back each year for the aforementioned period, and also complete additional work through the spring/summer school term. Details will be given at the interview stage.

It is essential that you have experience of working with children, are able to supply sample portrait images/link to your website, at application stage and have your own car/van to travel to different locations, daily.

To complete this role, you must

  • Provide a professional photographic service to our existing client base while maintaining a positive relationship with key contacts
  • Travel to a different school every day and capture high quality portraits and family groups
  • Have experience of working with children and enjoy meeting new people
  • Be fit and active as the role does require physical work lifting and carrying equipment
  • Be self-motivated, confident and outgoing, with the ability to talk to both children and adults in a professional manner
  • Be flexible with working hours as early starts are expected and late finishes will be necessary
  • Be required to complete an enhanced DBS check prior to the start of employment. This application will be made through The School Photography Company HR department

Traveling:

  • The successful candidate must have and use their own car on a daily basis. Mileage is reimbursed mileage costs at 35 ppm
  • You must be in possession of a full clean driver’s license

Equipment and Training:

  • You will need to provide a suitable DSLR with interchangeable zoom lens and tripod
  • All other photographic equipment will be provided
  • A full company training programme will be completed during August 2023 by successful applicants. All details given at interview stage

  • Commit to and complete a block booking from the beginning of September to the end of November, working 5 days a week Monday to Friday with the exception of the half term week in late October.
