Position Overview & Specifications

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn are looking for a Radiographer/Technologist to take on a full time post within the Radiology's Nuclear Medicine department.

The vacancy presents at an exciting time, with the department on the verge of securing new SPECT equipment.

With this revolutionary new equipment, we aim to drive the department towards a better quality of service for the patients within the community we serve.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn is a 530 bed district general hospital. It has a workforce of around 4,000 staff, of which around 130 are assigned to Radiology.

At this time, the Radiology department's imaging services consist of: -
  • 4 x general x-ray rooms
  • 2 x CT scanners
  • 2 x (newly acquired) MRI scanners
  • Obs & Gynae Ultrasound
  • General & Interventional Ultrasound
  • Breast Screening
  • Mobile Radiography
  • Fluoroscopy
  • Theatre Radiography - to include main theatres, endoscopy and day surgery
  • Dexa
  • Nuclear Medicine
Some of the main duties within the Nuclear medicine job description are as follows: -
  • To provide a professional, high quality and responsive Nuclear Medicine service, to patients in a safe clinical environment.
  • To undertake a wide variety of specialised Nuclear Medicine procedures and examinations.
  • Manage workloads, authorising and prioritising radiological examinations as appropriate for clinical need.
  • To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing high standards of patient care, whilst following policies and procedures as specified by the Radiology management team.
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) King's Lynn is West Norfolk has a superb unspoilt coastline with pretty villages, all with their own individual charm. The medieval port of King's Lynn has some very interesting architecture.

We provide a comprehensive range of specialist and general acute services to around 331,000 people across West and North Norfolk, in addition to parts of Breckland, Cambridgeshire and South Lincolnshire. We have more than 4,000 staff and volunteers and approximately 500 beds on a single site. Some specialist services and clinics are provided in community facilities, such as the North Cambridgeshire hospital in Wisbech. We work in partnership with neighbouring hospitals for the provision of tertiary services.

In February 2022 the QEH the Care Quality Commission rated the Trust as 'Good' in all of the core services they inspected, and recommended the Trust moves out of the recovery support system (formerly special measures).
