Grounds Team Member

The Old Hall Ely is a superb country retreat within a mile of the heart of historic Ely in Cambridgeshire. This recently renovated Jacobean manor house, with stunning views over lakes to Ely Cathedral, offers all that is best in English Country House hospitality.

We are looking for proactive members to join our grounds team on a seasonal basis (now – September). The upkeep and maintenance of our grounds are essential to the beauty of The Old Hall.

What the job role entails?

· Weeding

· Grass Cutting

· Maintaining flower beds, pots and pruning

· Sweeping and cleaning of terraces and pathways

· Watering

· Turf laying

· Planting

· Water feature maintenance

· Waste/ bottle bins collecting

· Leaf Collecting/ Blowing

· Power washing

· Lake Maintenance

The duties listed above are the basic tasks expected of a grounds team member and there will be variations and expected flexibility in order to cater for individual requirements.

You must be punctual, able to communicate with our wider team and be able to work under instruction. We want someone proactive, passionate, and ambitious to support us to create the best person-centred environment for our guests. You will be genuinely valued and empowered as an integral part of our team.

The ideal candidates:

• Well presented with good communication skills
• English language on communicative level
• Would be self-motivated, reliable and able to work well on their own or in a small team
• Horticultural certificates are beneficial (not essential).

Salary: From £10.50 per hour
