Domestic Assistant

We are looking for a part time Domestic Assistant for 20 hours a week.

Job Description

Responsible to the Manager or in their absence the nurse in charge.

MAIN DUTIES

The role of the domestic is an important one in the care of the home.

HOME CARE

• The cleaning of the home in accordance with the stated cleaning rota.
• The vacuuming and when required shampooing of floors/and or floor coverings.
• Emptying waste bins and the replacing of bin liners.
• Cleaning of bathroom/shower room (nursing staff will clean the bath after bathing a resident.
• Cleaning toilets as often as required.
• Wash all hand basins and clean all door handles daily.
• Polishing of furniture and fittings.
• Cleaning of internal sides of windows.
• Washing of paintwork.
• Deep clean and spot clean as requested by the manager or deemed necessary.
• The removal and replacement of curtains for cleaning.

HOME MANAGEMENT

Reporting of damages and breakages.

• Know how to deal with Fire Emergencies.
• Reporting of incidents and accidents.
• To keep confidential any information you might learn in the course of your work.
• Be aware of the Homes policy on Moving and Handling and to complete mandatory training.
• Understand the Homes policy on Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
• Keep all cleaning materials and chemicals in locked cupboard when not in use.
• Ensure all chemicals (these include soap powder and cleaning fluids) are not left unattended at anytime

SELF DEVELOPMENT

Understand your responsibility under the Health and Safety at Work Act.

Attend staff meetings as required.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 20 per week

Salary: £10.42 per hour

• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability
