Job Objective

In this role you will support our Milton Keynes team to produce the highest quality bread and pastries from our state-of-the-art mechanised line. As a Bakery Operative you will play a key role in delivering these quality products at scale and delivering exceptional attention to detail.

Duties

• Carry out production activity to a consistently high standard of quality
• Carry out safe manual handling techniques
• Wear the correct Personal Protective Equipment at all times
• Report any machinery defects to the Engineering team / Manager
• Follow the training you have been given (e.g. to setup machines, carry out automated machine washes etc.)
• Support your colleagues in carrying out your duties
• Adhere to high standards of food safety, food hygiene and quality standards
• Clean as you go, empty full bins, remove any waste from the floors and clean machinery
• Complete all paperwork and checks as required
• Ensure correct stock rotation as required

Person Specification

• Experience gained in a bakery/ manufacturing desirable but not essential
• Good standard of literacy and numeracy required
• Proactive and able to adapt to new requirements
• Good attention to detail
• Ability to act in a professional and courteous manner
• Able to work as part of a team
• Ability to manage change and work effectively under pressure
• Able to work on own initiative and able to work flexible hours
