Health Safety And Environmental Assistant

The Best Connection is looking for HSE assistant for one of clients in Immingham

Hours of work: Mon-Friday 10:00am till 2:00pm - Minimum 20hrs per week with potential to increase and holiday/sickness cover

Main Purpose of Job: To assist the HSE department in managing the health, safety and Environmental systems within the company

Relationships:

a. Responsible to: HSE Officer

b. Responsible for: subordinate staff as advised

c. Liaison with: office staff, warehouse staff, drivers, supervisors and managers

Main Tasks:

• Assisting with health, safety and environmental systems
• Assist in implementing changes to work practices
• Assisting with risk assessment/COSHH assessment reviews, including migration of existing risk assessments, COSHH assessments etc to New ENVA System and assisting with its upkeep
• Assisting with in house training and upkeep of records
• Undertake site Inspections and statutory checks of site equipment including fire alarm, first aid boxes and spill kits etc.
• Assisting with writing HSE reports for managers/directors
• Assist in producing near miss, accident and incident records/reports
• Assist in producing management reports and reports for the enforcing authorities if required
• Assist in co-ordination of testing schedules required under HSE legisaltion eg. LEV testing, blood testing and external training.
• Issuing PPE including stock takes and ordering
• Issuing hygiene comsumables including stock take and ordering
• Checking environmental documentation, checking for correct completion, including data entry
• Provide advice and support to HSE officer, supervisors and staff on health and safety and environmental matters
