Position Overview & Specifications
TEC Partners are working with a leading environmental, geophysical, and geotechnical survey provider that offers services to top energy companies around the world. Using state-of-the-art equipment and technologies, the company provides top-quality data acquisition, processing, and reporting services to marine, oil and gas, and wind companies to support the transition to more sustainable practices and ensure a clean and safe environment for the future.
One of the company’s specialisms being geophysical and geotechnical surveys, they are proud to operate one of the largest fleets of survey vessels that allows the company to offer a wide range of services and surveys, such as seabed, hydrographic, seismic, and much more.
The company is currently looking for a Senior Laboratory Technician based onshore for the majority of the time in the coastal town of Norfolk. The role will also involve up to 60 days per year offshore, depending on the demand.
The new member of the team will take a lead role in supporting junior technicians in running advanced laboratory tests, executing geotechnical testing, and assisting in testing result processing.
Responsibilities and activities:
- QC and test result processing
- Assisting laboratory testing, such as shearbox, thermal resistivity, stress tests, stress triaxials, interface ring shear, and others
- Support junior members of the team with testing procedures
- Provide training for testing and calibration
Your background:
- Previous laboratory experience in geotechnical laboratory
- Background in Geology, Earth Science, Geophysics, or closely related scientific field – A level or degree
- Experience supporting and mentoring junior team members
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely in a team environment
- Driver’s licence would be desirable
The position is a full-time, permanent role 37.5 hours a week (when onshore). A competitive salary is offered based on skills and experience, along with a range of benefits, and the offshore time will be compensated based on a daily rate.
