Full Time Chef - Flexible hours

Due to the expansion of our business, we are looking for a chef to join our team here at Tango: Durham City’s most prestigious casual dining restaurant.

We are looking for chefs that are passionate about what they do and are looking for a new challenge.

About the Chef Role:

As a member of the kitchen team, you will be responsible for working within our kitchen either on the grill, pass or prep station, using fresh local produce & ingredients. You will be required to maintain meticulous food hygiene standards, and will need a cheerful, hands-on attitude that won’t stop you from getting involved in all aspects of the role. We value a ‘lead by example’ approach, so a great work ethic is essential.

The successful candidates will work directly under our head chef and sous chef. We can offer excellent progression opportunities within the business (including regular salary reviews) and external training if desired.

Wage is dependant on experience and negotiable during the initial interviewing process.

Teamwork is a big part of Tango’s success, so we’re looking for people with excellent communication skills both within the kitchen and liaising with the front of house staff/managers.

Skills: The following skills are preferential for this for these roles:

· Ability to work well under pressure.

· Willingness to integrate into an established team, taking the lead when necessary.

· Be consistent with excellent standards of personal presentation.

· Demonstrate a working knowledge of Health & Safety.

· Passionate about fresh, local ingredients.

· Hold a valid Food Hygiene certificates (FH Level 2 preferred).

· Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a chef, especially in a high-volume kitchen.

· Knowledge of first aid (preferred).
