Title: Residential Support Worker for Children

Salary shown is based in between 11.50 – 12.50 (depending upron previous work experience, qualifications and the quality of interview)

We are seeking residential support workers to join our experienced team at our well-established OFSTED registered homes located in ILFORD & Southwest London. We are looking for you to join us in making a positive impact on the lives of the young people in our care.

The children in our care are between 8-18 years of age and have a range of complex needs - which may include emotional and behavioural difficulties. You will be asked to work alongside qualified care givers and clinicians in homely settings.

  • Duties:
  • Providing transport for the young people to access different provisions
  • Helping the young people access education
  • Household duties
  • Paperwork
  • Days out (e.g. social events, shopping, cinema, swimming)
  • Contacts, visit, key work meeting and therapy sessions
  • Offering guidance, support and structure to their everyday lives

The day can be very unpredictable and quite easily you could spend the entire afternoon providing 1:1 support managing extremely challenging behaviour, the right type of person needs to be flexible, adaptable and able to read situations and help our young people make positive choices.

  • Desires:
  • Level 3 NVQ in Residential Childcare or equivalent
  • 12 months experience working in a residential setting – desirable

  • NVQ Level 3 or higher in Health & Social Care (preferred)
