Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver

Direct Support Professionals/Direct Care Workers/Direct Care Staff/ Direct Care Professionals/Direct Support Caregivers/Caregivers/CNA's are needed for Serra Center's 6 bed Residential Care Facilities, serving adults with intellectual disabilities. The homes are licensed by the CA Department of Public Health and located in Fremont, CA.

With 47 years of experience and community relationships, Serra Center’s dedicated team of nurses, physicians and program professionals work directly with each individual and their family to develop a personal care plan that focuses on each individual’s medical and support care needs, while facilitating individual choice, goals and dreams.

Skills learned in this position provide valuable professional experience for individuals interested in health care, nursing, social work, recreation therapy, counseling!

Job Responsibilities:

• provide support and care with activities of daily living in accordance with individual's training goals, facilitate socialization and community activities

• administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician's orders and nursing care plans

• receive monthly in-service training to meet on-going educational requirements and licensing requirements for CNA's

Work Schedules:

• Week-day shifts: 2pm-10pm -or- 3pm-8pm
• Weekend Shifts: 6am-2pm -or- 2pm-10pm
• Overnight Awake (NOC) Friday, Sat, Sun: 10pm-8am -or- 10pm-6am
• On-Call: Accept open shifts based on your availability

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Experience in working with people with elderly or developmental disabilities
• Be able to pass DOJ clearance, pre-employment physical and TB test clearance
• A current CNA license is a plus but not required
