SCIB Analyst, Global Banking

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Key activities

  • Work within the Corporate Banking team of UK Banking & Corporate Finance (BCF) to support the management and development of global client relationships
  • Contribute to delivering the growth and financial objectives of Banking & Corporate Finance, via the origination and execution of corporate banking business opportunities
  • Provide support within the team to develop a deep understanding of client's changing needs, and partner with colleagues across the Bank to provide relevant solutions
  • Success requires a good understanding of Santander's Corporate and Investment Banking product suite and diverse geographical spread, and how these meet the needs of the client base
  • At all times adhering to personal, Santander and regulatory risk, compliance and governance responsibilities

Assisting in the development of deep and productive client relationships, the role will involve:

  • Assisting in the development of strategic ideas and content to originate corporate banking business, including transactional banking, risk management solutions, securitisation, leveraged finance and debt capital markets
  • Contributing to the execution of transactions and development of client materials, typically in conjunction with Associates / VPs and product teams
  • Pipeline management and reporting
  • Developing accounting, financial analysis and modelling, and other analytical skills
  • Preparing for client meetings, and where appropriate participating
  • Corporate and credit risk analysis, particularly in relation to leverage finance opportunities
  • Assisting in presentations to internal credit, pricing and prioritisation committees, particularly in relation to leverage finance opportunities
  • Involvement in Know Your Customer (KYC) onboarding of new clients and maintenance of existing clients
  • Building and maintaining productive internal networks
  • Undertaking extra-curricular activities to assist the senior management in the running of the BCF business
  • Participating in training and own personal development
  • Other general responsibilities that may come as part of the role

What we’re looking for

  • A Degree (or equivalent), preferably in a numerical discipline
  • Fluency in English
  • Other linguistic capabilities including spoken and written Spanish and/ or Portuguese desirable

What else you need to know

This role is based in our Triton Square office in London, conveniently located within walking distance from Euston Station and Warren Street Station.

Given the recent impact of the Coronavirus outbreak we will be conducting all interviews via telephone or video-conference where possible.
