The Opportunity

This is an exciting role and a great time to join us during a period of change and modernisation. Dating back to 1851 the shop is both a tourist attraction and somewhere the local community is proud of. Our Melton Mowbray Pork Pies have protected status and we are keen to retain tradition and artisan craft but also take our business to a new level. The role is to assume full responsibility for the marketing, sales and events co-ordination of the retail shop, wholesale and online business. The main responsibilities of the role include:

• Development and execution of commercial plans to grow channels.
• Ownership of our marketing and digital strategy including delivery.
• Guardian of the Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe Brand.
• Planning our annual events calendar, coordination of resources and delivery of those events.
• Develop YOPPS position at the heart of Rural Capital of Food.

This will be a varied role and one that will allow you to get involved in other areas within a part of the business with big ambitions.

Your daily tasks will involve:

• Input to, and execution of the commercial plan to drive channels of profitable growth through existing customers, DTC, wholesale, corporate etc. Including, supporting the shop where needed.
• Control of website content, updating regarding events, new products, photography, limited edition offers etc.
• Control and execution of existing marketing plan with a view to creating in future years, including internal comms, organisation and stakeholder management. Measure, monitor and adapt effectiveness.
• Support wholesale order process moving into Shopify.
• Customer contact on new or existing Wholesale customer and Corporate
• Owner of social media and comms, be that own creation or agreed plans.
• Shopify Power User, owner of e-commerce platform content, capable of administering or supporting day to day, NPD management, campaign analysis, identify trends, data analysis – all aspects of driving DTC conversion and growth.
• Pricing – lead / contribute to pricing discussion based on input prices or market movements – execute any decisions.
• Explore new products and packaging, manage seasonality and availability of the products. Lead or contribute to NPD and product set up, including marketing of seasonality or NPD.
• Influence and create plans for longer term product, promotions, marketing, customers.
• Communication strategy including calendar, content and format to the database to drive traffic.
• Social media management, consumer responses, web traffic and data management and analysis to drive sale.
• Monitor and report market/competitor activity on products or offers.

The Company

Dickinson and Morris is the oldest and only remaining pork pie bakery producing authentic Melton Mowbray Pork Pies in the centre of Melton Mowbray today. This role will be split between the Olde Pork Pie Shoppe and Piequarters at Rotherhill Business Park, Melton Mowbray.
