Position Overview & Specifications

Aircraft Engineering Services (AES Ltd) are inviting applications for a UK Station Engineer to be based at Manchester airport working in cooperation with our client Ryanair, Europe's largest airline.

The successful candidate will be an operationally focused, highly adaptable and proven leader, who is able to demonstrate a flexible working attitude in a fast-changing environment.

Duties and responsibilities

Reporting directly to the UK General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership and management of UK Engineering Line Stations and a team of 100+ Engineers and Supervisors. Daily duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Management of Routine Maintenance, Aircraft Incidents/AOG’s and Third Party Liaison.
  • Manpower planning, recruitment and staff performance management.
  • Ensuring appropriate spares and equipment are available at each location.
  • Budgeting, invoicing and negotiation/management of contracts with external suppliers/companies
  • Conducting regular visits to bases across the UK and Northern Europe, ensuring staff welfare and regulatory compliance.
  • Investigating Maintenance Delays, Engineering Safety Reports and Non-Compliances, implementing strategies to prevent recurrence.

Requirements

We are looking for a motivated self-starter with managerial experience who is ready, willing and able to manage technical teams in a diverse and fast-changing environment. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent time management, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and effectively communicate progress to Senior Management.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven leadership experience, capable of remotely managing diverse teams.
  • Aeronautical Engineering background required
  • Previous experience in Aviation or Engineering
  • Full computer literacy with experience of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
