Position Overview & Specifications

Are you a senior Chef looking for a step up? Do you enjoy preparing, cooking, and presenting beautiful food using locally sourced ingredients? Can you motive, inspire and lead a team in a busy kitchen environment? Can you operate budgets, work closely with suppliers and design new dishes? Are you looking to work better hours starting at 9am until 7pm?

We are looking for an experienced Chef to create, develop and deliver outstanding dishes for visitors coming to enjoy pre-theatre dining at our Rooftop Restaurant. This is a brilliant role for someone that is looking to develop a team, use their skills and creativity to develop exciting menus and gain a work life balance.

Duties will include:

  • Supervising, leading, coaching and managing the kitchen team to include the successful management of the day-to-day operation.
  • Managing the pass to oversee the food delivery during the pre-theatre service
  • Rotating menus on offer, both seasonally and in line with the changing artistic programme.
  • Overseeing the management of the kitchen at The Other Place theatre, including the production of all food – pastry kitchen, events, and pre-theatre services.
  • Deliver and exceed the agreed GP budgets and be involved in key financial aspects of the department
  • Owning the food offer across multiple sites and co-development of menus and selecting suppliers
  • Delivering functions and events to a high standard.
  • Full compliance with all food hygiene and associated legislative regulations
  • Ensuring a strong health and safety culture is embedded

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Previous experience of working within a high volume, quality food environment at a senior level
  • Proven leadership skills and the desire to nurture and develop a team
  • The ability to deliver gross profit control costs and operate within budget
  • A passion for food and sourcing the best ingredients
  • Up to date food hygiene certificates and knowledge of food standards
  • Good awareness and understanding of health and safety in a kitchen environment

We are proud to produce all our food in-house in Stratford-upon-Avon so you can use your skills to create delicious menus within a unique theatre environment.

This is a full-time, permanent contract based in Stratford-upon-Avon. You will be working an average of 48 hours per week between 9am and 7pm. Evening and weekend working is required.
