Founded in 1837, the Royal College of Art is the world’s largest community of postgraduate art and design students. It is also the oldest art and design university in continuous operation and has been ranked as the world's number 1 art & design university for a remarkable nine consecutive years, according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023 – the largest world-wide survey of academic and industry opinion.

The Royal College of Art is seeking to appoint an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Officer who will act as an equity, diversity and inclusion expert, bringing knowledge and experience of effective approaches and sharing best practice across the College. They will be central in shaping, promoting and delivering the College Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy and Action plan.

The role holder will support the development and implementation of EDI strategies, policies and initiatives that contribute to ensuring that the College meets its legal obligations as well as develop inclusive practices across services delivered by the College. They will identify ways to embed EDI across operations, policies, practice and culture.

The role holder will provide coordination for initiatives relating to EDI, working closely with the Head of Equity and Inclusion, and with colleagues across the College at all levels. The successfully appointed candidate will be pivotal in supporting the coordination, delivery and embedding of College EDI initiatives.
