Position Overview & Specifications
Award-winning rg+p is one of the largest and most successful multidisciplinary design practices in the UK also featuring in AJ’s top 100 UK practices. From our Leicester, London and Birmingham studios, we design and deliver fantastic spaces and places.
We are currently recruiting for a full time Residential Layout Designer to work in our Leicester office.
The candidate is required to have…
- a degree (or equivalent) in Architecture, ideally with a postgraduate degree/diploma in Urban Design/Planning
- a passion for residential architectural design
- a good understanding of urban design principles
- the ability to produce consistently attractive layouts
- knowledge of commercially viable layouts with regard to mix and coverage
- a proven track record in design for the housing industry
- knowledge and understanding of UK planning policy
- good comprehension of the UK Building Regulations
- a good knowledge of ArchiCAD, Adobe Photoshop & InDesign or an ability to learn new software quickly
- the initiative to work both independently and as part of a team
- excellent time management skills
- knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes
- the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
- excellent communication skills
