Rethink Mental Illness are hiring Cleaner to join our the Walsall Crisis Café team.

The Walsall Crisis Café based at the Sanctuary Hub is a safe and friendly place where people can receive face-to-face support outside of usual mental health service hours.

The Sanctuary Hub in Walsall was named ‘Service of the Year’ at the Rethink Mental Illness awards last month, as part of the national mental health charity’s celebration of its work -Walsall Sanctuary Hub named ‘Service of the Year’ :: Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

The Hub is run by Rethink Mental Illness and commissioned by Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, which is the lead provider of mental health, learning disabilities and autism services in Walsall, Dudley, Sandwell and Wolverhampton.

The dedicated team, based on Queens Parade in Bloxwich, are on-hand to provide emotional support for those in distress or in need of reassurance, at times when people simply need to be listened to.

What do I achieve;

• Dusting, sweeping, vacuuming and mopping all areas within a working environment.
• Refilling and restocking cleaning supplies and toiletries (hand wash and toilet paper)
• Washing kitchen cloths, floor rags and dusters
• General washing up duties
• Cleaning glass windows
• Emptying rubbish bins
• Maintaining cleaning products and supporting with ordering new supplies when necessary
• Carrying out minor maintenance tasks such as replacing displaced toilet seats, unclogging sinks
• Conducting monthly disinfection and deep cleaning
• You’ll work in line to COSHH regulations whilst maintaining hygiene levels
• You’ll ensure any pest issues are reported directly to a supervisor or other senior staff member immediately
• Follow Health & Safety procedures

Who am I;

• You’ll have previous cleaning experience, ideally within an office building and have a good understanding of the health and safety at work legislation, in particular, operating the highest cleaning standards and operating safely at work.
• You’ll be able to prioritise the high-risk areas of cleaning and coordinate tasks accordingly
• You’ll have the ability to use own initiative
• You’ll work to agreed plans
• You’ll have good time management, organisation and communication skills
