About the Business:

Our Client are the providers of bespoke refrigerated transport, pharmaceutical & healthcare logistics services across the UK and Europe. Their specialist refrigerated temperature controlled fleet of vehicles allows them to cater to a vast range of products and markets, ranging from food to pharmaceutical industries.

About The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Operations Supervisor to join a rapidly growing our client’s Peterborough site. As an Operations Supervisor, ensure that operational efficiencies are consistently maintained, whilst delivering necessary changes to key personnel and operational staff whilst ensuring company policies, procedures and legal requirements are adhered to.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 06.00am to 14.00pm.

Salary: £28,000- £30,000 per annum.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· To lead, motivate, supervise and develop the operatives and leaders to ensure that they are effective both in terms of our policy and procedures, as well are our commercial obligations to the customer.

· Manage the day to day activities within the warehouse whilst being able to involve themselves in practical work on the warehouse floor as required.

· Carry out staff daily brief detailing current day’s workload, any specific communication points and allocate duties as necessary.

· Ensure compliance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and oversee working practices ensuring temperature checks, equipment checks, correct stock rotation etc is maintained.

· Follow the requirements of the Standard Operating Procedures for the safe and legal handling of food.

· Managing poor performance, attendance and general misconduct via verbal communication and file notes.

· Conduct return to work interviews with returning direct reports following an absence.

· Identify training requirements for the warehouse team and highlight these with the warehouse trainer so the correct training can be arranged.

· Implement and manage daily and weekly KPIs.

· To carry out any other reasonable management instruction to the expected standards which ultimately supports the business.

About you:

• Must have at least 2 years warehouse supervisory experience.
• Experience of hygiene procedures, standards and equipment in the chilled food industry
• Strong communication skills, including verbal and written.
• · Be able to lead, motivate, supervise and develop staff to ensure effective working.
• Experience of working with standard operating procedures.

Desirable:

• Manual Handling Training
• Basic Food Hygiene certificate
• Licence holder for MHE: Powered Pallet Truck, Counterbalance and Reach Truck.
