Position Overview & Specifications

Purpose of the Job

A fantastic new opening within Brown Shipley for a HR Business Partner to join the team in London, located just a few minutes walk from Bank tube station.

This is a great opportunity for a HR Generalist or HR Specialist who wants to gain broad exposure to business partnering in a fast-paced environment and support on key HR projects.

Key Accountabilities

Reporting to the Head of HR, UK and working closely with the HR Team, you will play a key role in delivering the overall HR agenda. You will act as trusted partner to a variety of business leaders across the organisation. You will also work in partnership with the HR Centres of Expertise (CoEs) to deliver key projects and initiatives. As HR Business Partner (Generalist) you will be required to support business requirements in a full range of people activities including recruitment, retention and development.

  • Work alongside the UK HRBP team and broader HR colleagues to deliver seamless HR support to Brown Shipley & Co Limited.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and HR colleagues across the UK and our European locations, to support the end to end employee lifecycle from point of hire through to exit.
  • Advise, guide and support business stakeholders on ER matters, including partnering on disciplinary, capability or grievance matters.
  • Support the organisation in achieving their culture, engagement and DE&I ambitions.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition on hiring needs, including business approvals.
  • Work alongside HR Operations to ensure key people processes and procedures are reviewed and improved where necessary.
  • Working with HR Operations and Payroll to ensure all key monthly payments are accurate and timely.
  • Support the Head of HR UK to produce quarterly MI and people data metrics.
  • Support all business as usual cyclical activity such as performance management, annual compensation review processes, talent management and succession planning.
  • Working with the Head of HR Regulatory & Governance to embed the regulatory framework requirements across the employee lifecycle in the UK– from onboarding, to performance management, to people policies.
  • Supporting Head of HR UK with the implementation of strategic and operational HR initiatives.
  • Participate and support in local and group-wide HR initiatives, aimed at the continuous improvement of the HR func-tion, processes and services.

Knowledge and Experience

Experience in HR generalist roles within Financial Services
General knowledge of Banking environment (incl. role, skillset, regulation)
Experience of supporting HR projects – either as an HR Generalist or in a CoE Partner role.
Solid understanding of the HR employee lifecycle and the measures of success
Good general knowledge of current employment law and regulation impacting the employee lifecycle
Experience of stakeholder management either as an HR Generalist of Specialist Partner.

Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage challenging situations with stake-holders
Excellent communication skills (oral & written)
Strong team player, happy to support broader team as needed
Self-confident and resilient / Ability to work under pressure

Technical Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). SuccessFactors knowledge is beneficial but not essential.

Languages Skills

Fluent in English, additional languages beneficial but not essential
