Job description

Exciting Opportunities at Plus Dane

Plus Dane is a values-based organisation with a strong social purpose. Nowhere is that more evident than on our Board and Committees that set the strategic direction for the organisation while providing oversight and scrutiny of how we deliver our corporate plan.

Our ambition is to tackle social inequality by enabling individuals and communities to thrive. We continue to respond to the challenges facing our customers and the social housing sector whilst ensuring that the organisation remains sustainable. Our Board is clear about the roles Plus Dane will play in effecting social change and the direction in which we are heading.

In line with our Board succession strategy and a governance review, we currently have 2 Board Member vacancies.

Whilst we do have specific requirements, as the role specification outlines, we are keen to hear from candidates from diverse backgrounds that reflect the diverse communities that we work in.

We have been recognised as a good employer following our successful application to be included in the Liverpool City Region Fair Employment Charter and we want to ensure we have an inclusive environment for customers and colleagues. We celebrate diversity and are an organisation where everyone can contribute, is able to thrive and there are equitable outcomes.

Previous experience as a Board member or an understanding of the housing sector and the regulatory context within which we operate would be useful but it is not essential as we will provide training and support for you to develop in role.

Board Member:

We are looking for Board members with knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas;

  • finance
  • development
  • risk management
  • entrepreneurial/business development

As a Board member, you will attend quarterly Board meetings and will also be involved in one of our Committees that meet quarterly. There are also opportunities to support senior colleagues within Plus Dane with strategic pieces of work that you have experience of or share a passion for.

Recruitment Process:

We operate an inclusive and transparent recruitment and assessment process, underpinned by an organisational commitment to equality and diversity.

We are particularly interested to hear from applicants where Plus Dane is under-represented at Board level (for example with respect to ethnicity, younger ages, disability, LGBT+, and those living in areas of low social mobility).
