Pirelli UK Tyres Ltd – Carlisle
One of Europe’s leading tyre manufacturers, Pirelli UK Tyres Ltd, is seeking a Maintenance Labourer to join us at our Carlisle factory.
The successful applicant will work 40 hours per week, from 08:00-16:00 Monday to Friday.
Basic salary £31,188 per annum.
Working within the Maintenance Department, this position is part of the key preventive activities. The Maintenance Labourer will work closely with the rest of the maintenance team to provide labouring support, FLT driving and completion of lubrication, technical cleaning and other duties to ensure maximum machine availability and efficiency for the production processes within the area.
The objective is to improve the Safety, Quality and Overall Efficiency of the department, concentrating primarily on the maintenance aspects that can contribute to this improvement.
Main duties include (but are not limited to):
Ensuring the correct completion of departmental maintenance tasks e.g., machine lubrication and other maintenance checks, reporting any defects, Oil Analysis sampling.
Supporting the Maintenance tradesmen in inspecting, assessing and acting on planned work, modifications, and breakdowns.
Assisting with the installation and commissioning of new machinery in liaison with plant and process engineering staff.
Ensuring adherence to Company policy and statutory regulations especially in areas of Health, Safety and Engineering practice.
Main maintenance workshop house keeping based on a rota system with other Mini Factory Maintenance Labourers.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following abilities:
Education and professional background:
Reasonable level of education
A general interest and experience in a mechanical / maintenance / engineering background
Professional and personal aptitudes:
A good problem solving ability
Good communication and people management skills
Good knowledge of mechanical / maintenance principles
Self motivated, focussed and able to work on own initiative
Hard working and eager to help others
Good organisation and basic IT skills (will need to use our CMMS)
