An opportunity has arisen for a top-quality Security Guard, working in a high profile retail environment in Leeds. This will be a part-time role on a self-employed basis, with notice of days being provided in advance.

The position available is for a part-time (Saturdays and midweek) guard based in Leeds. Flexible attitude is necessary and if you do not have your own vehicle then you will be required to utilise public transport.

This vacancy for part-time is for 2/3 days per week, to cover full-time guards rest days. One of these days per week will be a Saturday. You will have each Sunday off. Which weekday(s) you work can be negotiated.

Due to the nature of the business, it is essential that the applicant has a very smart appearance, is alert, professional, quick thinking at all times, is discrete and has excellent verbal communication skills.

The successful applicant will be of a very high standard, who can hold a conversation and make a client feel protected without intruding in their personal space either physically or verbally.

The candidate will have self-confidence but will also know when to discretely back away and keep a low profile. This is a skill that cannot be taught.

Duties will include (but are not limited to); Screening who enters the premises (rejecting when required), greeting all visitors with a cheerful and exuberant welcome, keeping a close eye on stock and its movements, observing for any criminal activity and planning in the immediate area & liaising with the appropriate authorities when necessary. You will be positioned outside the front door whilst on duty in order to observe the surrounding area.

Essential requirements:

* SIA Front Line Licence holder

* Excellent/Good English speaking language

* Experience in the security industry

* Smart / clean-cut appearance

* Reliable, trustworthy and likeable

* Professional attitude

* Fast thinking

* Able to converse in a competent & confident way

* A quiet, yet confident demeanour

* Non-intrusive

* Able and willing to work Saturdays

Desirable requirements:

* Police / armed forces background

* Full driving licence

* Previous experience with luxury goods

* Close protection background

This position will be on a self-employed basis, with notice of days being provided to the applicant in advance. Work may also come at short notice, you would be expected to remain contactable and be open to working on some 'days off. You will be expected to work Saturdays.

The rate of pay is £12.00 per hour.

This is NOT a close protection role, however, the skills that C.P. operatives possess are an extra advantage.

This role will involve being on your feet for extended periods.
