Full time post 37 hours (permanent)
(Mon, Tues, Thurs, Friday) 9.30am till 6 pm and (Wednesday) 1 pm till 6 pm
OR
(Mon, Tues, Thurs, Friday) 8.00am till 4.30 pm and (Wednesday) 1 pm till 6 pm
£20239.80 – £22359 per annum depending on experience
Full time Medical Receptionist required for a busy, friendly, GP practice in Motherwell.
Experience and knowledge of Vision and Docman computer systems are desirable but not essential, as training will be given.
Main Purposes:
¨ Liaison between clinicians and patients.
¨ To ensure that enquiries from patients are dealt with quickly and efficiently
¨ To undertake the general administration duties required in a General Practitioner surgery.
Main Duties:
- Answering the telephone and processing requests by patients for house calls, triage appointments with a clinician, telephone appointments with the Doctors, ordering ambulances to hospital at the doctor’s request and advising patients on non-clinical matters. Dealing with patient inquiries making and passing information from the doctor to the patient in the form of a message or a result.
- Processing patients attending for surgeries and clinics – self check-in available (encouraging patient to use this system).
- Processing repeat prescription requests using vision; logging of requests for acute prescriptions by patients.
- Filing of patient records, letters, reports and any other miscellaneous items (in document management system (Docman)). The practice is now paperless all documents are now scanned to the system.
- Processing new patients or temporary residents onto the computer.
- Ensuring an adequate hand over to colleagues of urgent or important unresolved queries or requests.
- Giving out sample bottles and receiving completed samples from patients. Familiarising yourself with all practice policies and processes.
Any other duties as required by the clinicians, Practice Manager or Office Manager.
