Trainee Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship

OMNI-CEM Ltd is an independent construction materials test laboratory, specialising in the testing of cements, aggregates and concrete.

In this role you will be working with the laboratory team where you will be trained to receive, prepare, and test samples for a range of properties. You will also be taught the methods we follow to ensure safety and quality at work. You’ll be supported and guided, learning on the job by experienced materials technicians.

Whilst previous experience and science base qualifications would be great, we are always open to applications from candidates with the right ability. We’re looking for someone with the right attitude and aptitude to fit in at OMNI-CEM.

The ideal candidate will be reliable and highly motivated. They will have a keen eye for detail and be able to follow instructions. They will be a methodical, accurate person who take a sense of satisfaction from getting the testing parameters right every time.

The laboratory is located in a semi-rural location and your own form of transport will be required.

Shift pattern: 8:30-17:00 (Mon - Fri)

Apprenticeship

This role will include studying on the job for the gold standard Level 3 Laboratory Technician apprenticeship with The S & A Academy. This will qualify you in the role and give you eligibility to Registered Science Technician (R.Sci.Tech.) status and the opportunity to progress to L5 Science Technician standard. You’ll be earning as you learn.

Your off the job training will be delivered online with our instructors.

Length of Apprenticeship: 18 months

Salary: £20,000.00-£22,500.00 per year
