As a Biomedical Scientist at our Guildford Hospital you’ll bring the relevant qualifications and laboratory experience in multidisciplinary biomedical science. You have a good working knowledge of different analytical equipment in a range of techniques. You’re also a natural communicator and team player, and you share our idea of quality.

As a Biomedical Scientist, you will:
Deliver high-quality pathology services

Perform biomedical diagnostic testing, interpretation, reporting and quality control

Keep records of specimens, results, reagents and consumables

Support the validation and assessment of new equipment and new diagnostic procedures

Help ensure we deliver the very best experience for patients

The Person

HCPC registration (Required)

A BSc in Biomedical Science (or equivalent qualification/experience).

Relevant laboratory experience in Histology.

Good working knowledge of different analytical equipment in a range of multi-disciplinary techniques.

Great communication and team player skills.

The ability to understand how vital it is to maintain good customer relationships and provide high levels of service in a modern pathology laboratory.

Be able to multi-task and meet required service turnaround times.

Have relevant laboratory experience in Haematology and Blood Transfusion biomedical science

Our facilities include 49 en-suite patient bedrooms, 4 operating theatres, acute dependency and oncology units. We’ve been awarded the Macmillan Quality Environment Mark for cancer care. Our site is shared with an NHS Trust hospital, giving us access to their facilities. The working atmosphere is highly professional and stimulating, yet friendly and collaborative like that of a large family unit.

The hospital is easily accessible from the A3 or M25 and we are located about 1.5 miles from Guildford town centre.
