Position Overview & Specifications

Together for Childhood at the NSPCC is our long-term project working with local communities to make them safer for children. We work with local partners and families to come together to prevent abuse and tackle the problems that cause it, head-on. Join the Together for Childhood team in Glasgow as a Research & Evaluation Officer and lead the development and implementation of our local evaluation and learning work.

This role will manage a Research and Evaluation Assistant, and together the Glasgow Together for Childhood evaluation team will lead on developing new and interesting opportunities to understand and assess how the initiative is working for children and families in their local communities.

Do you want to lead on innovative research and evaluation to tackle child abuse and neglect?

Together for Childhood is a place-based initiative which aims to radically improve the way we tackle child abuse and neglect through systems change. Together for Childhood sites are places of continuous learning and the NSPCC conducts research and evaluation to provide insight into what works and what makes a difference.

We're looking for an experienced researcher to lead on the design and implementation of local evaluation projects, as well as supporting the central evaluation of Together for Childhood. Specifically we're looking for:

A strong background in qualitative and quantitative methodologies and their application in community settings, including children and young people
A commitment to collaborative, inclusive and participatory practice
Strong skills in building respectful and productive relationships with children, families and their community
The ability to share findings to varied audiences, but particularly with the community TfC works in

The post is full-time and permanent but part-time/flexible working will be considered. Your base is the Govan Service Centre but it will be possible to work from home for part of the week. Some travel to other NSPCC locations, including London, will be necessary.
