About the Role - Organisation: Nottingham City Council

Salary: £28,371 per annum rising to £30,151 per annumon first year of anniversary – pro rata for part time (subject to satisfactory completion of probation period)

Working Hours & Contract: Permanent – Annualised Hours – 1929 hours per year for Full time

We are pleased to announce we are re-opening Nottingham Castle, and as part of this great news, we have a fantastic opportunity to hire a Visitor Experience Lead.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day to day visitor experience, supporting the Heritage Site Manager in achieving Business Plans targets and projections pertinent to the areas of responsibility. The Visitor Experience Lead will ensure exceptional service, every time to everyone, and oversee outstanding and inspirational experiences at our site. The post holder will be part of a broader team of staff on the site delivering great service to visitors. The role will involve being an advocate for the heritage sites, assist with site delivery and provide additional management support at sites, as directed. The successful candidate will ensure there is an excellent standards of customer service, and including site, staff and presentation at all times.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

· Strong knowledge and experience of customer, visitor management, leisure, tourism and heritage sectors

· Ability to organise and set up successful activities such as events and functions

· Knowledge and practical experience of Health & Safety and Risk Assessment in relation to providing a service for the public

· An eye for detail and quality standards and an ability to ensure others maintain them

· Experience of leading a team of employees and volunteers, leading by example

· Experience of IT, Cash Handling, Reconciliation and use of EPOS tills including Internet and digital/social media awareness

· Ability to work across all museum sites, including evening, weekends and bank holidays
