The job:
The applicant will be involved in all aspects of the development of a newly planted vineyard site and over time will gain the practical experience and necessary skills. The work will involve:
- Physical vineyard operations involving tasks such as pruning, tying down, shoot thinning, fruit thinning, harvesting, maintaining trellising etcetera.
- Working with associated vineyard implements. (e.g., mowing, cultivating, watering,strimming etc).
- Plant husbandry of newly planted vines including transplanting.
- Maintenance of vineyard site and security.
- Record keeping.
- Equipment maintenance.
- Personable, passionate, confident and a desire to learn and advance.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
Skills:
- A keen interest and willingness to learn new skills is vital.
- Previous experience working in an agricultural environment would be an advantage.
- Candidates must be comfortable performing sometimes repetitive tasks to a high standard.
- Candidates must be comfortable working alone and as part of a small team.
- They must be reliable, punctual, polite, and diligent.
- Good communication skills are important, and candidates must have the ability to take instructions and perform tasks to a high standard.
- Candidates should have a strong interest in learning about grape-growing.
Working conditions:
- Work will take place outdoors in all weather conditions, everything from lovely sunshine to rainy days!
- Due to the nature of the role, physical health and fitness is important.
- A full clean driving licence and the right to work in the UK is essential.
- We are looking for applicants who may have some general experience in Horticulture and Agriculture and are interested to work towards greater specialisation.
The package:
- Minimum wage.
- Full training will be provided by Viticulture specialists.
- Potential to develop or further a career in the vineyard / viticulture sector.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 6 months
Part-time hours: 20 per week
Salary: Up to £10.42 per hour
