Position Overview & Specifications

Reporting to the product manager, as an apprentice you will be working within the Assembly Team as a flexible resource carrying out a range of duties involved in the assembly of gates/barriers/poles/electrical control panels as required.

Job Duties

Assembling, wiring, repairing and testing of mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment on our range of products.
Using hand/crimp/soldering/power tools.
Crimping, looming and cable terminating work on control panels.
Accurately numbering, crimping and stripping of various cables.
Liaise with stores to get required stock for projects.
Working to instructions and/or wiring diagrams/drawings.
General assembly tasks.
Ensuring that all Health and Safety requirements are met including: equipment checks; wearing the correct Personal Protective Equipment; following safety protocols; proactively reporting any concerns or risks; participating in training and risk assessments as required.
Work towards completion of Electrical Apprenticeship.

Skills, Knowledge & Behaviours

Ability to read and understand technical/wiring drawings.
Interest in Engineering.
Experience of using tools.
Demonstrate a commitment to on-going learning and personal development.
A good communicator who works well in a team environment.
Enjoy working under your own initiative and managing a busy workload.
An awareness of health and safety.
A good standard of literacy and numeracy.
Basic computer knowledge.
Driving Licence.
Flexible to work overtime/weekends.
