We are recruiting a Web Designer to join our Impact Team at Mercer.

Mercer’s Impact team are a group of strategists, creatives, digital experience masterminds and pension experts who create a boutique experience for all our clients. Whether it’s expert advice on communicating a big change to the business, the right approach to engage pension scheme members, a slick new digital employee experience or a captivating brand and creative campaign – we know how to help our clients make an impact.

What can you expect?

In this newly formed role, you will work on projects with the creative design and digital teams to develop, design, build and deliver innovative, interactive employee communication campaigns. Our campaign channels cover digital channels, like web, email and apps, alongside physical media like print.

The role will appeal to web designers/front-end developers who enjoy and value design. They’ll understand various frameworks and technologies to design and deliver the right solution for the project brief. At the same time, they’ll be on the cutting edge, always exploring new ways to do things.

We will count on you to:

  • Work with the creative and digital teams to understand business, technical and user requirements and determine ways to deliver engaging digital employee experiences.
  • Produce wireframes and sample page layouts.
  • Develop functional prototypes to demonstrate concepts.
  • Translate visual mock-ups and storyboards into a useable application with visual precision and attention to detail.
  • Ensure the ‘look’ of new websites adheres to company branding and client requirements.
  • Use your programming knowledge to build, implement and maintain HTML, CSS and JavaScript components and applications in a team environment.

What you need to have:

  • Good front-end web design skills with a solid understanding of creative graphic design, usability and user experience.
  • Fundamental and practical knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Proven ability to work with Creative Cloud applications and create visual concepts for online delivery, including email design/templates.
  • Experience with web content management systems.
