Job description
The prestigious bank is seeking a Payments & Operations candidate to join this friendly and busy team within Banking Operations.
- Processing SWIFT messages in and out of the bank, ensuring all payments are signed off and have permission to leave the bank on the correct authority.
- Processing internal payments between customers accounts (both in GBP and cross-currency and inputting rates as supplied by treasury)
- Managing customers' direct debits and standing orders, and setting them up or canceling them at request.
- Authorising payments out of the bank as part of a three-step authorisation process (inputter, verifier, and authoriser)
- Administration of online banking credential requests for customers, alongside transaction passwords, login passwords, and credential resets
- Processing bill payments for utilities on behalf of real estate clients and working directly with the real estate department to send SWIFT confirmations
- Working in partnership with the treasury department in order to position funds both in and out of the bank.
- Processing FX deals both in and out of customer accounts and applying the correct charge in line with doing so, working with the FX dealers on obtaining rates for FX deals, processing FX deals between customers alternate currency suffixes
- Working with financial crime and control unit in order to process the unblocking/blocking of accounts (requesting unblocking authority in order to process funds in and out and ensuring correct authority is given before doing so) and ensuring all evidence is filed in the correct place
- Issuing of debit cards for customers and ensuring correct three-step authorisation process is followed, administration of card details.
- Administration duties - filing all paperwork at the end of the day in a secure manner and in correct order to ensure files can be located accurately if needed for audit purposes or for future reference at customer request
- Ensuring all confidential data is locked securely away at the end of the day and all cupboards and units securely closed
- Destruction of confidential documents, recalling confidential documents for internal audit/external audits
Job Type: Temporary contract
Salary: £150.00-£200.00 per day
