Kitchen Assistant

Magic Roundabout Nursery Walthamstow (MRN) is looking for a passionate and experienced Kitchen Assistant to assist our Nursery Cook in our busy nursery kitchen in Walthamstow, just 10 minutes walk from Highams Park Station and a 15 minute bus journey from Walthamstow Central Underground Station.

The successful candidate will have experience of assisting in the running of a commercial kitchen and cooking for large numbers of people and should have robust knowledge of food hygiene, health & safety and allergy control guidelines and procedures as well as Safer Food Better Business.

Level 2/3 in Catering/Food Hygiene or a similar/equivalent qualification is preferred.

Salary - £19,780 - £21,000

Scope of position:

• To be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
• Liaise with Nursery Manager/Nursery Cook and ensure food orders are carried out and stock control is managed
• Ensure meals are served on time as per nursery menu

Key Responsibilities lie in:

• Health, Safety and Hygiene of Kitchen
• Contribute to team effort of the nursery
