Trainee Furniture Assembler

We are an established bespoke furniture manufacturer based in Cheltenham. Due to expansion and growth, we are looking for a full-time trainee furniture assembler who can demonstrate willingness to learn a new skill and be able to work in a busy wood-working factory environment.

The job will require learning all functions of furniture assembly and associated tasks: -

Work under the supervision of the Frame Shop Supervisor

Preparing the job, setting up work to be assembled

Use of manual hand tools

Use of compressed air-operated tools and equipment

Manual handling of furniture frames

Material handling of wood and wood pieces

Cleaning tools and work area.

Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping to reduce hazards at workbench

Performing all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations

Must comply with the use of PPE, including the wearing safety footwear, safety glasses, and where required, gloves

Experience:
Some previous experience of tools and woodworking would be advantageous, but not necessary as this will be a trainee role

Starting salary - £11.75 per hour, (rising to £14.10 per hour upon successful 6 month probationary period) + overtime (when available)

25 days holiday + Bank Holidays

Pension scheme

8:00am-5:00pm Monday to Thursday with a 1:00pm finish on Friday
