Position Overview & Specifications

We are an award-winning e-learning software development company based in South Somerset. We develop ground-breaking e-learning courses which include mobile, tablet, serious gaming and virtual worlds. We work for the largest multinationals in the world.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our growing team. The individual must be resourceful, self-motivating, dedicated and have excellent interpersonal skills. The candidate must have experience of dealing with large corporate clients on projects that range from fast turnaround to larger projects and managing the budgets that go with them. They must also be able to interact and communicate with a talented team of programmers, artists and instructional designers, all of which are remote.

Our clients are global so some felxibility on working hours would be essential.

This is a challenging position and will suit someone who has a level head and can stay calm under pressure and is capable of managing teams across the world. Experience of project management within e-learning, education, digital media or software is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement accepted project management methodologies
  • Manage and deliver multiple digital design and development projects
  • Liaise closely with key stakeholders to ensure that projects are scoped and agreed
  • Proactively manage projects and act as a central point of contact for clients and production team members throughout the project lifecycle
  • Manage development activities in accordance with identified parameters (timescales, costs, quality tolerance, etc.)
  • Ensure resources are planned and resource planner is kept up to date
  • Manage the resources assigned to the project
  • Ensure that appropriate documentation is produced and maintained for all projects including project overview, project plans, reports, meeting notes and project budget trackers
  • Maintain detailed records of the progress of current projects
  • Facilitate project meetings during the project lifecycle
  • Proactively manage changes or movement in scope, identify risks, and devise contingency plans
  • Effectively communicate and continually manage expectations of team members and stakeholders in a clear and timely fashion and hold daily and weekly briefing sessions for your team
  • Ensure the progress of all developments is transparent and reported to the relevant people
  • Liaise with Content Specialists (i.e. Subject Matter Experts) who develop content for learning and assessment
  • Manage freelance Content Specialist resource

Assists the team, when needed, across all aspects of course creation (from content development to graphics design and production)

  • Monitor production quality
  • Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably requested by line management

We have recently moved to working as a completely remote team and this position can be home based but during the initial 6 months regular visits to the Somerset office will be required. All hardware and software provided.
