Position Overview & Specifications
Leapfrog Therapies are are modern and progressive company providing a variety of education and therapy services for children and young people. We have an exciting new opportunity for a PBS Therapist to join our team! If you’re passionate about delivering values driven behaviour support, this could be the role for you! All programs have behaviour analysis at the core, as well as a strong PBS framework, and incorporate education research, parenting research, attachment theory and Trauma Informed Care.
Main duties:
- deliver (2 hour) 1-1 PBS therapy sessions, 2-5 afternoons a week
- work 1-1 with a 6 year old boy with autism to improve confidence, communication, listening, play skills, behaviour, etc.
- after working in the home to build rapport, you will support the child in community trips also (E.g. swimming)
- run therapy alone, using initiative and, keeping resources organised
- work closely with parents and Lead Therapist
- receive monthly support and training from the Supervisor or Consultant
Essential:
You must have previous experience working with children with autism
You must have previous experience supporting behaviours of concern
You must have previous experience with duty of care for a child
You must have previous experience of lone working
You must be patient and nurturing
You must be willing to spend time building trust in the therapeutic relationship
You must be reliable and committed
You must have excellent communication skills
you must have right to work in the uk
you must have a clean dbs
Desirable
you may have availability to work with additional children in future
You may have use of a car, for ease of getting to clients
You may have previous experience working in Positive Behaviour Support
