Landscape Architect/Designer

Koch and Associates is in search of a Sr. Landscape Architect or designer to join our reputable design/build firm. This is a leadership roll that will take on management of design and preparation of plans for presentation to our residential clients. If you want to design creative landscape projects and be there to assure construction is completed as you envisioned this is a position for you.

Candidate should have experience supervising a junior design staff, high level experience with construction details, client management, and creativity in landscape design. Preferably, their experience would be in the California bay area. Deep knowledge of native plant material and proficiency in AutoCAD is required. California Landscape Architecture license is highly preferred.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• This is a lead design roll. Use your creativity to direct the designs being produced by your team
• Work with clients to fulfill their needs while being mindful of their budget
• Manage the design of residential projects varying in size from preliminary design phase through construction document phase
• Manage the production of project documents and construction details
• Management of 2-3 design professionals, ability to create an office schedule to ensure drawings are ready to present on time
• Comply with the city building codes and obtain permits when required
• Note: Estimators will be available to guide you in the design process to help stay close to the clients budget

Required Skills and Preferred Experience:

• California Landscape architecture license(Highly preferred)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and or other design software
• Experience in California based residential landscape design.
• Meet deadlines working in a collaborative design studio.
• Extensive knowledge of local California plant material.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, self-confidence in interacting with residential clients.
• Knowledge of landscape construction practices

Pay: $135,000 - $160,000 per year total compensation

· Landscape Design: Single family residential - 5 years minimum

· AutoCAD: 4 years minimum
