Position Overview & Specifications
We require a part-time Country Park Warden to help maintain the site and its facilities in a clean, safe and attractive state through litter picking, cleaning the toilets, carrying out minor repairs, keeping the lake clear of debris, assisting and guiding visitors, enforcing site rules and reporting problems to the ranger team.
Annual Hours 690 hours per year - average weekly hours 13.23 You will work alternate weeks. Hours are:
2 hours per day Mon-Fri, 5 hours Saturdays, Sunday and Bank Holidays in winter
3 hours per day Mon-Fri, 5 hours Saturdays and 6 hours Sundays and Bank Holidays in summer. 5 extra hours to be used across the week where needed
The site needs to be opened at 8:30am and closed at dusk, on weekends it involves 3 visits to the site.
You will be reliable and possess good interpersonal skills and have a positive attitude towards customer care. A flexible attitude to working hours and the ability to attend the site at short notice as required. A level of physical fitness appropriate to the needs of the job, approx. 6hrs of walking.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
