Part Time Soil Sampler

The Company:

Keith Mount Liming is a 6th generation agricultural business based in the heart of East Anglia at Bury St Edmunds. With a long established customer base the company is well known for supplying Lime, Fertiliser, Gypsum and Soil Sampling Services to hundreds of farms throughout Eastern England.

The Job Role:

The company have a vacancy for a part time Soil Sampler. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has an agricultural background or a passion for agriculture and is looking for a varied role within the farming industry. Soil Sampling is carried out using quad bikes with GPS mapping software and full training will be provided. This position would suit someone who is a good communicator, can plan workloads, be self-motivated and enjoys working alone outdoors. Applicants should ideally be based within a sensible distance of Bury St Edmunds.

Ideal Person - Skills and Qualifications:

Agricultural/Farming background preferred

Ability to work alone

Good attention to detail

Self-motivated with a ‘can do’ attitude and common sense approach

A flexible approach to work and changing seasonal workloads.

Basic IT skills and familiarity with MS Office would be an advantage.

Hold a valid clean UK driving licence

B+E Licence or trailer towing experience an advantage but not essential as training will be provided

A very important element of the job will be assessing colours. For you to be able to test soils to the standard required for this role, you will need full colour vision.

The Package:

Competitive hourly rate to be discussed at interview dependent upon experience.

28 days holiday pro rata (incl bank holidays) and company pension.

Salary: £10.50-£13.50 per hour
