Position Overview & Specifications

Civils Operative (Permanent, Full time)

Salary of up to £30,000 dependant on experience plus excellent pension scheme, 25 days annual leave plus your Birthday off, a Wellbeing Day and Volunteering Days, life assurance and corporate discount scheme

Location – Field Based, Hull and Surrounding Areas

Business Area - Wholesale & Networks

What will I be doing?

Within the role of Civils Operative, you will be working on network build and maintenance within Hull and the surrounding areas by installing of cabinets, duct network, Fibre cables and more.

You will be working across a range of settings from private land to public land which could include working in the highways, footways, service strips, gardens or across fields on a range of different surface types.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Perform associated network build/ maintenance tasks using specialist tools and machinery
  • Excavating in the Highways/footways complying with NRSWA and HSG47
  • Compliance with SROH (Specification for Reinstatement of Openings in Highways)
  • Provide solutions to on site issues that may arise during construction and maintenance of networks
  • Comply with all IBMS requirements as detailed in the KCOM policies, ISO certifications, industry standards, legal & regulatory obligations and other related company arrangements and procedures
  • Build & maintain best in class network to the most cost-effective methods
