Property Development/Maintenance Operative

We are looking to appoint the right individual as a Property Development/ Maintenance Operative with Skidmore Properties Ltd. based in Stanley & Consett.

Our Newstart programme is a 5 month, paid placement programme that aims to give real work experience, in a real job, with a real wage; exclusively to our Karbon Customers in career-starter roles; so you can get a boost to your career journey. The application process is all done via our Foundations for Life team, who will provide you with application and interview preparation support; and if you’re successful; continued support as you go through your placement.

About the role

You will be working with a builder to complete all aspects of building activities such as:

• Joinery
• Plaster Boarding
• Tiling
• Plumbing

The role encompasses all elements of trades, so it’s the perfect stepping stone into construction, property maintenance and a chance to see if there’s a particular specialism you prefer!

About you

You will be a Karbon Homes tenant.

You will be looking for a chance to jump start your career – whether that’s

after a long stint not in work, or if you want to change your career path.

We’re not looking for experience, but we are looking for someone who is

hard working, understands and follows health & safety instructions with a

positive ‘can do’ attitude.

You will be polite and friendly with customers and have good communication

skills.

You will be interested in getting into construction or maintenance; and keen

to learn new skills and trades

The role is a perfect stepping stone into a Construction Apprenticeship or a

role in Property Maintenance!
