Position Overview & Specifications
We are looking for a shop assistant to join our team in our Kenilworth jewellery and watch store. We sell a wide range of fine and branded jewellery as well as a large selection of watches. We are looking for a permanent full-time employee to work five 8.5 hour days per week (regular Saturday work will be required). Pay rate is subject to experience.
The successful candidate would be expected to:
- Greet customers entering the store
- Give advice on product selections
- Provide advice regarding jewellery or watch repairs
- Book in customer repairs following procedures
- Process transactions and take payments (cash, card, finance)
- Deal with high value sales confidently
- Handle customer complaints and returns
- Responsible for keeping the store tidy
- Stock control, price labelling and stock management
- Replenish displays and adjusting to present products in line with brand guidelines
- Keep up to date with sales promotions and trends
- Take part in brand in-store training and online training
- Report to store manager (sales, issues, discrepancies, etc)
- Keep the store clean and tidy, including hovering and mopping
- Being vigilant with regards to store security, shoplifters and fraudulent payments
- Order stock and deal with suppliers
- Follow repair system and contacting customers with quotes and updates
- Complete other shop related tasks as necessary
Experience of the jewellery trade and retail would be an advantage. The candidate should have a friendly and engaging personality and would need to be comfortable in dealing with members of the public politely and with confidence. Smart appearance and the ability to work well within a team will also be necessary. For this permanent roll there will be a probation period of at least 3 months subject to review by management.
